Jacksonville’s Drone Aviation gets repeat contract with Department of Defense

Jacksonville’s Drone Aviation Holding Corp. has landed an $800,000 contract with the U.S. Department of Defense

The contract calls for the company that produces tethered drones and blimps to provide a “winch aerostat small platform” tethered blimps for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, a Drone Aviation news release said Tuesday.

The drones are operated by U.S. soldiers and the new contract is a repeat order for Drone Aviation. The company builds and constructs its drones on Jacksonville’s Southside off Beach Boulevard
